17-4 PH Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings have very good chemical, mechanical, and physical properties. Chemically, they have 15–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, and traces of niobium and manganese to precipitate harden. Mechanically, the fittings have extremely high tensile and yield strength—up to 1100 MPa in heat-treated conditions—combined with very good hardness and fatigue endurance. They are physically of good dimensional stability, have a moderate corrosion resistance, and they retain strength to 600°F (316°C). The alloy is magnetic under all conditions and may be heat treated to many strength levels.
