Chemically, they are made up of chromium (19–23%), nickel (23–28%), molybdenum (4–5%), and copper (1–2%), which account for their higher resistance to acid attack and corrosion due to chlorides. Mechanically, they have a tensile strength of about 490 MPa and a yield strength of about 220 MPa, with excellent elongation and impact properties. They are physically denser at 8.0 g/cm³ and maintain their corrosion and structural resistance until 450°C and thus find applications in harsh industrial conditions.
