Monel 400 Pipe Fittings have outstanding chemical, mechanical, and physical characteristics and are well suited to highly corrosive and stressful conditions. Chemically, Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy with about 67% nickel and 30% copper content, which has very good corrosion resistance against seawater, acids (particularly hydrofluoric and sulfuric), and alkalis. Mechanically, it has good tensile strength (up to 550 MPa), acceptable ductility, and toughness even below zero temperatures. Physically, Monel 400 is stable and retains its strength within a broad range of temperatures and possesses favorable thermal conductivity properties, lending itself to marine, chemical, and heat exchanger applications.
